NCCS Vs. Dansville :: Men's Soccer Team Rock!!

I got a chance to check out this years boys soccer team.... most impressive! The men's team beat a good Dansville team 3 to 1. The guys soccer team (fall 2008) has been ranked between 4th and 10th in the state for it's class. Goalie Tyler Fitch was ranked first in the state earlier this year. Way to go guys, let's go all the way!

Graduation 2008

Finally!! It has been a very busy summer, sorry for not posting these sooner. N.C.C.S. Graduation was awesome as usually. I will miss this senior class especially because of their care and feeding of this blog and yearbook... oh well, all good things must come to an end and new things begin!! Here is to fine, up and coming, class of 2009 may God bless everything you put your hand to, and Congratulations to the class of 2008.

Senior Trip

Hey friends!
The Seniors are having an awesome time on trip! God has been faith and we are definitely learning how to rely on His strength. This week we have been able to spend time in the classroom with the kids from the Tennyson Center. Almost all the of kids have been abused and it was a stretch for some of us, but just stepping out and loving those kids has brought a new part of the Father's heart into our lives.

We have been able tutor the kids in the classroom, play miniature golf with them, go to baseball games, and most of all just show them God's loves. A simple, "You are doing a great job," goes a long way for these kids. God opened the door for me (Stephanie) to minister to a girl by our common love of music. The first night we both were able to play guitar. Since then we have shared our favorite Bible verse and part of our testimonies to each other. It was an amazing week and I know we will walk away knowing how Christ's love really does make a difference when we step out and minister to others.
Well, today we are going to church, shopping, and hanging out at Casa Bonita. Tomorrow we are hitting the white water!!! We are excited to come home, but are sad to leave those awesome kids.

Homecoming 2008

Homecoming at New Covenant Christian is a very special time. A time for renew old friendships, a time to see people you haven't seen in a while and time to have some fun. This years Homecoming featured basketball games, J-High boys against the dads, Alumni women against the high school girls, and the main event, the Alumni Men against the boys varsity team. The games this year were close and the youngsters gave the "old" guys and gals quite a work out.

Half time festivities featured kids and adults participating in a Fear Factor type eating contest, where the contestants got to eat things like broccoli, sardines and every body's favorite SPAM! Needless to say there were more than a few contestants that did not make it to the end!

This years Homecoming King and Queen were Andrew Hoxie and Stephanie Hawn.

NCCS Girls B' Ballers Get Their 1st Win!!!

The New Covenant Christian Girls Basketball team notched their first win of the season over Jackson Area Home Educators. It was a slow moving game that had an exciting finish! Congratulations Ladies, well done!

Valentine's Extravaganza

Saturday, February 9, was a night of fun and laughter! The food was hot, the entertainment was the best (thanks to my class:), and the door prizes were worth over $450! Valentine's Extravaganza was held at Mt. Hope Church this year which helped us break the attendance record at just over 230 people! The Senior were definitely ready to crash on saturday night, but we all enjoyed practicing the skits. Well, I would love to stay and chat some more but the Eagles just came on the radio...see ya later!

Christmas Concert 2007

On December 7th New Covenant Christian School had their Christmas Concert. It was wonderful! The Beginning band, Grades 5-7 and the Concert Band, Grades 7-12 both directed by Betsy Wilson performed Christmas Classics like Jingle Bells, Angels We Have Heard on High. The Beginning Band even performed an original piece by Miss Wilson called Christmas Fanfare.

Following the choir the NCCS Drum line, directed by Tom Warner, rocked the house with two Warner originals Starter and Latin Bug!

The NCCS Choirs directed by J. Roger Wilson, closed out the evening with such songs as Joy to the World, Silent Night and Gloria.

Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to put on a great night of music!

Basketball Time!

The New Covenant Christian Junior High and Varsity Men's basketball teams were in action last night at Aim High against Flint Valley. Our Varsity team dominated their V team, winning easily with the final score NCCS 61, Flint Valley 19.

Cross Country Crew
